Yououtuber convicted of hunting Pokémon in church while making fun of faith

In Russia, the young Russian YouTuber Rouslan Sokolovski has just been sentenced to three and a half years in prison, for "incitement to hatred" and "violation of the feelings of believers".

Lhe 22-year-old young man who claims to be an atheist, staged himself in Yekaterinburg Cathedral, in the Urals, in August 2016. In the video posted on Youtube, he openly mocked the faith and Jesus , hunted Pokémon to liturgical music whose words had been grossly diverted.

First placed in preventive detention then under house arrest, his trial took place Thursday, May 11, 2017. Rouslan Sokolovski was sentenced to three and a half years in prison for "incitement to hatred" and "violation of the sentiment of believers".

For Judge Ekaterina Choponiak, her statements are "disrespectful for society" and her actions are "extremist". For Amnesty International on the other hand, this condemnation is "a new attack on freedom of expression".
