Separatism: The Evangelicals, a "very important problem" in France according to Gérald Darmanin

Invited on the CNews set, in Pascal Praud's program, L'Heure des pros, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin once again made alarming remarks against evangelical Christians on Tuesday, February 2.

DExperts since Monday, the deputies examine the bill "reinforcing the respect for the principles of the Republic", a debate which promises to be heated as this bill is sensitive, in particular as regards religions and freedom of worship.

Tuesday February 2, the Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin was invited on CNews to defend the text on the hour of the pros presented by Pascal Praud. The minister asserted that Islamist separatism was "the enemy", a "dangerous" and "murderous" enemy, before adding that Islam is not the only religion concerned and to point the evangelicals.

"Evangelicals is a very important problem" he declared, comparing evangelical Christians to radical Islamism while specifying that they do not give rise to problems "of the same nature" since Islamism "carries out attacks" and "give murders".

Among the problems raised on the side of evangelical Christians, Gérald Darmanin speaks of a "soft power from abroad" which would be financed by France on arrival. These remarks by the Minister of the Interior sparked strong reactions on social networks.

The National Council of Evangelicals of France reacted on Twitter in particular, asserting that evangelicals are in reality "respectful of the law and of the republican authorities, and cannot serve as a guarantee to defend this liberticidal bill".
