No news of five Iranian Christians arrested while fishing

he families and friends of five Iranian Christians arrested during a picnic are deeply concerned for their well-being, and call for prayer.

Ln Friday August 26, Ramiel Bet Tamraz, Amin Nader Afshar, Hadi Askary, Mohamad Dehnay and Amir Sina Dashti were accompanied by their wives, in Firuzkuh north of Tehran to go fishing. Security officials from the Ministry of Intelligence (Vevak) approached the participants before separating the men from the women.

One of the Christians, Amin Nader Afshar, was beaten by officials after asking them for an arrest warrant. Amin had already been arrested on December 26, 2014, together with Victor Bet Tamraz, father of Ramiel, during a family celebration, on the grounds of proselytizing and "illegal house church activities" and "printing and distribution of the Bible ”. They were released on bail in the first quarter of 2015 and are awaiting trial.

The 5 men were eventually taken away by the officers. The families, without news since, believe they were locked up for the sole reason of their connections with Victor and Amin.

It is therefore feared that the objective of Vevak officials is to obtain forced confessions in order to obtain "evidence" against Amin and Victor, with a view to their trial.
