When we look back at the end of the year, we can count the blessings of the Lord, rejoice in the good times and the opportunities seized, but we also see the things that we would like to change, the habits that we would like to see disappear. We make resolutions because we don't want to make the same mistakes again. We want a different year, a new start, a new beginning, a year of victory.
THEyear 2016 is over. Behind us. We won't change it anymore. She disappeared with all our mistakes. We are now eager to turn our backs on the past, to mobilize to see a change, and to write the brand new pages of this new year. May this prayer inspire us and allow us to begin the year at the feet of Jesus.
Lord Jesus, I come to you in this brand new year with a desire to move forward, not backward. Last year is gone. I can't wait to look ahead and get to know you better, love you, serve you and introduce you to others.
You gave your all for me, and every day of the year can always be a new beginning. Thank you for your unlimited graces and your mercy. Thank you for making me your child. Forgive me for ignoring your voice sometimes and pursuing my own priorities. Your promise is like gold to me.
Without you, I would not be able to cope with the pressures and challenges of this new year. I want to make you the center of the year 2017. I want to trust you, follow you, praise you, replace fear with faith, knowing that you are faithful.
My armor is shattered, my weapons rusted, my apologies are in vain. Come help me let go of my bad habits, free myself from false expectations and fill my heart, soul and mind.
I leave my past disappointments for our divine dates this year. My life is yours, my relationships, everything I have Jesus. Grant me wisdom, so that I can make choices that honor you. Help me to see as you see. Renew my gifts and abilities to bless others, as you bless me every day.
