News from the victims of the bus crash in Madagascar and the families of the victims

This summer, on the night of July 31 to August 1, a tragic bus accident was 34 dead and 80 wounded in Madagascar. The victims were Christians. All were on their way to a youth gathering.

Lhe young Christians of the Reformed Church and some of their families were on their way to a big “Scout” and “Christian Youth” meeting when the tragedy occurred. The news reached us quickly, and very quickly Esther the Made In Compassion coordinator for Madagascar, as well as all the partners on the spot, went to the bedside of the victims. The stories of each of the victims were heartbreaking.

Mialy, 20, had lost her mother and sister that night. 12-year-old Tsinjo's father and brother were dead. Ranto, 13, already fatherless had seen his mother and his little brother perish in the accident. You can find other tragic accounts of lives marked forever in the accident on the site of Made In Compassion.

Many of you were mobilized in prayer and in a surge of solidarity through donations in favor of the victims and their families. Pastor Andriamahatony and Synod President Andriamanampisoa Hermane Gideona recently conveyed their thanks to us.

“We give thanks to God and express our gratitude to you for your prayers and your help during the traffic accident.”

The money sent there has been allocated in priority to children who have become orphans, people who have become disabled and bereaved families. The 124 victims recently received 57 euros to meet their final needs. This represents approximately 2 weeks of salary. Orphans and victims still under medical care for permanent sequelae will benefit from donations as and when they are taken care of.

We let you discover in video, the faces of the victims and their families grateful and blessed by the gifts and the prayers of their brothers and sisters at the end of the world.
