The attackers also accused Christians of resorting to forced conversions. 4 pastors were taken to the police station.
Sunday, December 11, 20 Christians from the village of Tikiriya, in the state of Rajasthan, were also brutalized by a group of around thirty radicals. Stephen Rawat, a priest seriously injured in the attack told Asia News :
“I have no enemies. I was beaten because of my Christian faith. ”
5 Christians had to be treated at the Mahatma Gandhi hospital in Bansawara.
Dr. John Dayal, human rights and religious freedom activist denounces the persecution suffered by Christians in India during the Christmas period.
“For several years now, the Advent season and the month of December have become difficult for the Christian community… There are police patrols in the capital, but elsewhere it is a question of drawing lots. Services can be attacked or take place calmly. The tension is palpable. ”
