“Listen to the Song of the Angels”: The song that brings together 80 churches to announce Christmas!

To celebrate the birth of Jesus, Christian churches in France, Switzerland, Belgium and two French-speaking churches in London have come together to offer an online Christmas carol.

Anear the success of "The Benediction France", released in May 2020 on YouTube and which counts more than 500 000 views, the team behind this project wanted to repeat the experience, this time for Christmas.

It is 80 churches from 15 regions of France including Martinique, Guyana, Réunion and Guadeloupe bringing together 140 singers from 7 to 77 years old who responded to the call of Jean-Luc Sergent, Anglican pastor in Saint-Barnabas.

The pastor, who is also responsible for the French Connect Church in London, had been challenged by "The Blessing", sung by churches across the United Kingdom. Inspired by this initiative, he came up with the idea of “La Bénédiction France”. This time, Jean-Luc Sergent and his team wanted to continue in this dynamic of unity by offering a Christmas carol in French which is inspired by the tradition of “Christmas Carols”.

The song takes up the melody of a famous “carol” in England, “Hark! The Herald Angel Sing ”,“ Ecoutez le Chant des Anges ”in French. A strong message of peace and hope to remember the true meaning of Christmas and celebrate the birth of Christ.

The aim of this initiative is also to get out of our churches and to share this Christmas time more widely. As pointed out by Shayne MacLachlan, in charge of praise in his Catholic parish in Saint Cloud.

“Through this song, we want to encourage each church in France or French-speaking to invite widely on social networks and to open its doors (face-to-face or online) so that as many people as possible feel invited to participate in this happy time of expectation and Christmas celebrations, with particular attention to the most vulnerable and those who suffer. "

So don't hesitate to bless your family and friends with this video by sharing it on social networks, accompanied by #lechantdesanges!

Small bonus, at the end of the clip, we discover footballer Olivier Giroud, member of the French Connect church of Jean-Luc Sergent, who concludes the song by reading verses from the Bible (Luke 2: 10-11, 13-14).

“Do not be afraid, for, behold, I come to give you good news, which will be of great joy to all the people. There was born to you […] a Savior who is Christ the Lord.
Suddenly there was with the angel the heavenly host en masse which sang the praises of God and said: 'Glory to God in the highest heavens and on earth peace for his loved ones'. "

Released yesterday on YouTube, on the occasion of the first Sunday of Advent, the video has already accumulated more than 23 views.
