Jojo, a homeless man from Nice, donated his savings to those affected by storm Alex

Jojo, a homeless man in Nice, moved by the victims of the storm Alex in the Alpes-Maritimes, donated his savings, 150 euros, to help them. 

Unicknamed fifty-something Jojo, Homeless in Nice, moved the web on Saturday, October 10. A volunteer from the Solidarity 06 association who knows Jojo well, Tania, reported on Facebook that the homeless person had contacted her to make donation of his savings to the victims of storm Alex.

Born in Craiova, Romania, John (Jo or Jojo for close friends) grew up in an orphanage. Faced with the difficulty of finding a stable job in his country, he chose to go to Europe. First in Italy where he had odd jobs without paper. Then, in France, in Nice since 2017 where he moved to the Museum of modern and contemporary art, the MAMAC.

The Romanian SDF, which sells the magazine “Sans Abris 06”, has succeeded in putting 150 euros aside, a sum he wanted to give. Jojo explained that knowing the misery he wanted to help these disaster victims who find themselves with nothing in the Alpes Maritimes.

Jojo's story has been around the web and his generosity has touched many people. Notably, Pierre-Paul Leonelli, Deputy Mayor of Nice, city cleanliness delegate who offered him a job as a cleanliness officer.
