Home-made bomb discovered in front of a Toulouse church

Thursday, December 8, 2016, a homemade bomb was found in front of the Saint-André church, in the Roseraie district of Toulouse. This event was only made public today.

The relatively simple explosive device was concealed in a small box. The firing seems to have failed, but according to investigators:

“The rudimentary device was intended to set fire. "

An investigation by the Toulouse SRPJ is underway, aimed at determining the origin of the explosive device. The prefecture of Haute-Garonne is preparing to bring together representatives of the diocese to expand surveillance around Toulouse places of worship during festivals throughout the department.

While some see this homemade bomb only as a "simple provocation" by a few young people, concerns about terrorism are growing among others.

This new "incident" also echoes the various acts of vandalism, identified these last weeks on French soil.
