Billy Graham begins his hundredth year: "I am only a spectator of what God does"

He is arguably the most famous evangelist of the 20th century. He has left his mark on generations of people and continues to impact through his writings, his video sermons and the responses he gives to his readers every week. Billy Graham remains a humble man who gives all the glory to God.

“If anything has been accomplished in my life, it has only been done by God, not mine. And it is to him, not to me that we must give the credit… I am only a spectator of what God does ”.

Billy Graham turned 99 on Tuesday, November 7, after spending three-quarters of his life preaching the gospel. He is entering his 6th year as one of America's most respected men. His son Franklin Graham paid homage to this extraordinary evangelist, who worked to spread the Gospel for more than XNUMX decades.

“My father always wants the focus to be on the Lord Jesus Christ, not Him, and this is how we will show the amazing ways God has worked around the world, through the ministry of Billy Graham. . "

He also gave some news about his health:

“As a family, we are so grateful that he is always with us […] He is calmer these days, he cannot see or hear well, but his health is stable […] I know my father is grateful for all the prayers and wishes on this special occasion. "

"I am an ordinary preacher"

At the end of his secondary studies, young Billy wrote in his diary:

“My hopes and plans for the future are to serve God and do his will as a minister of the gospel. "

Decades later, he is arguably the one who preached the gospel to more people than any other ministry. 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories. According to those around him, however, he has always remained a humble and devoted man, loving the tranquility of his home in the mountains of North Carolina.

“I'm not a great preacher and I don't pretend to be a great preacher… I'm an ordinary preacher, I just share the gospel in the best way I can. "
