"Now he confesses that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only true and living God. He believes in Christ, and brings his wonderful gospel to his people. His whole family has also openly confessed his faith."

The one that Christian Aid Mission calls Mayank Markam, changing his name for security reasons, was a tribal priest in South Asia. Like his family before him, he led religious festivals and animal sacrifices.

But he was best known for his violence against Christians. Everyone feared him. "If anyone spoke of the Lord Jesus Christ, he was very angry and persecuted them, tied them to trees and beat them severely, and drove them out of their villages," said the head of a local ministry.

One day, four members of his family fall ill. All die. Then he gets this disease. So he begins to sacrifice animals and tries rituals with magicians for his healing. But nothing helps.

It is finally with Christian workers that he will find comfort. They prayed for him for three days and the sickness disappeared.

"Now he confesses that the Lord Jesus Christ is the only true and living God," the leader said. "He believes in Christ, and brings his wonderful gospel to his people. His whole family has also openly confessed his faith."
