War in Ukraine: food aid for the isolated villages of Kherson and Kharkiv

ADRA Ukraine, a humanitarian organization created by the Adventist Church, provided food aid to residents of remote settlements in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions. 

ADRA is the acronym for Adventist Development and Relief Agency or in French Agence de Développement et de Secours Adventiste. It is a global humanitarian organization created by the Adventist Church to help all those who live in great precariousness. .

“The road leading to the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka was terrible, destroyed. In some places it was completely impossible to pass, or only through the fields, so we had sappers with us, driving ahead. We were going very slowly and carefully for more than five kilometers. »

“We even punctured the wheels twice! People welcomed us with tears, they were happy to receive everything we had brought,” describes Olha, an ADRA Ukraine volunteer, about this dangerous journey.

The situation in these camps, isolated for so long, is critical. Circumstances have not allowed for regular food deliveries and the needs are immense.

Thanks to the action of ADRA Ukraine, supported by the United Nations World Food Programme, the inhabitants of the camps in the Kherson and Kharkiv regions have finally received humanitarian aid packages.

Food parcels, weighing 17 kg, were indeed delivered to the inhabitants of Derhachi, the settlement of Guta, the village of Starytsa, the village of Rzhavets in the Kharkiv region, and the villages of Velyka Oleksandrivka and Velyka Lepetykha in the Kherson region.

Since the start of the war, ADRA France has supported ADRA offices bordering the Ukrainian border to help them provide effective aid in the conflict-ravaged country.
