85-year-old gets baptized at historic Pirate's Cove event hosted by Greg Laurie

As thousands of people thronged the rocky paths leading to Pirate's Cove, an 85-year-old man made his way to the water to publicly express his commitment to the Lord.

It was a moment the family of an 85-year-old man thought would never happen and yet that big moment happened last July 8 at a mass baptism hosted by Pastor Greg Laurie, an event that saw 4 people submerged in water in a faith-filled day.

The event was inspired by "Jesus Revolution", a blockbuster film depicting the events surrounding the Jesus movement of the late 1960s and 1970s – a time of spiritual transformation when young people, weary and despairing of a seemingly hopeless world, turned to Christ en masse.

"At one point the line really slowed down because an older couple - the man was 85 - was taking longer to come down the stairs," Laurie told Faithwire of CBN.

"But when we met him, his story was so amazing: he saw the movie at 85 and accepted Jesus into his life after that movie session"

Laurie said the man 'wasn't a believer' before seeing the film, but accepted Christ afterwards, and then walked to Pirate's Cove - the place where Laurie himself was baptized as a young man - to publicly affirm his faith in Jesus.

"His family said, 'We never, never thought he would turn to Christ'"

The story of this man is one of the many testimonies of conversion following this very special film which continues to upset the entertainment industry.
