A shooting at the Congregação Monte Carmelo evangelical church in Brazil left one dead and four injured, including a young girl in serious condition.
On Sunday, a shooting took place at the Evangelical Church Congregação Monte Carmelo, in the state of Amapá in Brazil. A man died on the spot. We also deplore four injured, including a 3-year-old girl, who remains in serious condition.
According to local police, witnesses report the arrival of two armed men, who entered the church and opened fire. One of them then fled on a bicycle.
For the Secretary of State for Justice and Public Security, it would be a "act of retaliation", "a confrontation between rival criminal groups". The deceased man was known to police for theft.
The little girl was hit by two bullets, one in the foot and one in the chest. She was rushed to hospital. The town hall of Santana deplores the fact that "violence has touched the place where Christian families seek peace, love and harmony".
