Pray for the captives of pornography

This month of December we will pray around the theme of deliverance. The word deliverance in the Second version occurs more than 40 times. The verb “deliver” is declined in more than 300 forms. Hence the importance of this subject! Let us pray for the power of the Spirit to experience deliverance for ourselves and to bring it to others. Jesus did so: “And should not this woman, who is a daughter of Abraham, and whom Satan had bound for eighteen years, be delivered from this chain on the Sabbath day?” (Luke 13:11-16). The word deliverance applies to various situations. In the Our Father prayer, Jesus invites us to ask God to deliver us: “Deliver us from evil” (Matthew 6:13). It can be deliverance from evil spirits as for this woman, but it can also be the fact of being rescued from a bad situation, from a perilous situation, from the opposition of the enemies of God as Paul asks in Romans 15:31. It may be a question of carnal passions as Paul mentions in Romans 7:24. Among many other situations, let us note the case of Lot who was delivered from the test: 2 Peter 2:9.

Do you need deliverance? Does anyone around you need deliverance? This month of December we will spend it praying for various deliverance needs.

Some have shared with me, in their message, the fight they are waging against immodesty and (or) pornography. They asked to be helped through prayer.

Here is a testimony that particularly moved me:

“In the prayer points that you will send, I am very keen to pray, and to ask for prayer, for all people who are still in the bondage of pornography or struggling with sexual sins in their lives. It's such a private and taboo area that no one dares to talk about it, and yet many people need help in this area, including among believers. I know what I'm talking about, because I was a victim of these bonds until God comes to my aid, and I am accompanied by qualified people..."

Pornography is an addiction that affects many people, including in churches. The Internet makes this link easily accessible and anonymous, which suffocates spiritual life and destroys homes.

Unfortunately, this scourge is affecting children at younger and younger ages.

"Lord, we pray to you for the captives of these bonds; that they have the courage to ask for help in prayer to be delivered! May there be qualified people in the Churches to help and accompany these captives! They themselves are willing to seek help from qualified people!

May the love for God, in the hearts of these slaves, dethrone this idolatry, and may they dare to speak about it! We pray that those who are freed will be able to accompany the captives on the path to deliverance.

May the captives separate themselves from the sources of temptation, and may they persevere in seeking victory! In the name of Jesus, amen!”

With love,
