"Hey Porsche, why did you delete the statue of Jesus Christ from your video shot in Lisbon?"
By wanting to celebrate the 911th anniversary of the Porsche XNUMX, the German sports car manufacturer probably did not expect to attract the wrath of Internet users. But their publicity has generated many comments on social networks.
Because if in the last version of the advertisement, at the forty-fourth second, the Porsche 911 passes well in front of the famous Cristo Rei of Lisbon, the statue of Jesus had been erased from an initial video. Quickly, Internet users had expressed their astonishment. “Hey Porsche, why did you erase the statue of Jesus Christ from your video shot in Lisbon?” asked one of them. "Looks like Porsche doesn't want Christians to buy their cars," replied another. "Even I, as an atheist, find it confusing," continued Internet user.

In a press release taken up by the New York Post, the German manufacturer said it was "really sorry". "In an early version of a film created in Europe, the Cristo Rei statue does not appear. We are truly sorry and can fully understand the harm this has caused. This film has been removed."
