Dropping several thousand chocolates from a helicopter… This is what a church in Las Vegas, Nevada has planned. This giant Easter egg hunt will take place on April 9 and serves the purpose of “carrying the gospel message to as many people as possible”.
“As Christians, we believe that Easter Sunday is an important opportunity to bring the message of the Gospel to as many people as possible. That is the main purpose of this event, to provide an opportunity where families can have fun, enjoy and experience the power of Easter."
A representative of the Aguilas Centro Familiar Cristiano Church explains that the church relies on the verse of 1 Corinthians 9: 23, "and I do this for the sake of the gospel in order to share in its blessings".
"The main focus has been, is, and will continue to be sharing the gospel and the good news that Jesus' death and resurrection brought to mankind," he says.
This is not the first time that an American church has embarked on such a project. 7 Hills Church is also trying "to make Easter memories fun for families".
"Over the years we've dropped eggs from hot air balloons, organized professional skydivers, fireworks and even shot people with cannons."
