"This year, looking at the data, there has been more than one incident per day" in India, according to the president of the United Christian Forum.

The United Christian Forum (UCF), an ecumenical body that monitors cases of violence in India, has a toll-free number that allows Christians to report cases of violence and access legal help and advice. This year, from January to May, 207 cases of violence against Christians in India have been reported.

According to the president of this organization, AC Michael, “this year, observing the data, there has been more than one incident per day”. He recalls that during the year 2021, considered "the most violent for Christians", 505 incidents were reported.

The states where Christians face the most violence to date are Uttar Pradesh, with 48 reported incidents, followed by Chhattisgarh with 44 incidents.

Acts of violence include sexual violence, intimidation and threats, social ostracism, vandalism and desecration of religious places, and disruption of prayer services.
