"Macabre series of murders" in Nigeria: "What remains to us is God, and hope"

The trauma, the gruesome series of murders, the daily kidnappings, the attacks on farmers and the destruction of crops, the burning of houses, churches and living humans, the mass burials are very disturbing. What remains to us is God and hope. "

On September 26 and 27, several attacks left 49 people dead and more than 14 injured. 27 other people were abducted.

On September 26, the community of Gabachuwa, in Kaduna State, was targeted by armed attackers belonging to the Fulani ethnic group. 27 people were kidnapped as a result of the attack, mostly Christians from Evangelical Church Winning All, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide. A person who crossed the path of the attackers and abductees was also killed. A priest denounces "A massacre against the natives".

On the same day, during a joint attack on the communities of Madamai and Abun, in Kaduna state,  40 people were killed, 8 others were injured. Luka Binniyat, spokesperson for the Union of Peoples of South Kaduna, explains:

“As it was raining, they started to open fire at the same time. While people were running, they (armed men) were shooting. This afternoon, 40 bodies, mainly women and children, were recovered and they are transported to the morgue of Kafanchan General Hospital. The inhabitants also told us that the attackers were Fulani. "

He also regrets "that the police and Operation Safe Haven do not have a simple drone to help them in area surveillance", before adding "and it seems that this is deliberately the case".

On September 27, the village of Kacecere, in Kaduna State, was the target of an attack. Eight people were killed, six were injured and several houses were set on fire.
