“Look forward to spiritual retirement”: the book by Brother Baudouin, the monk of Bienvenue au Monastère

“Look forward to spiritual retirement” the book by Brother Baudouin, the priest of Bienvenue au Monastery

On the occasion of the broadcast of the program Bienvenue au Monastère on C8, Brother Baudouin Ardillier published a short spiritual retreat guide with Editions Première Part. A turnkey work for everyone to experience a peaceful moment of encounter with the Lord.

Première Parts editions publish “Can’t wait for spiritual retirement”, a work written by Brother Baudouin Ardillier, an experienced spiritual guide, as we saw in the new C8 program, Bienvenue au Monastère.

Like a sports coach and with great kindness, he takes up his pen to encourage this exercise, which is as difficult as it is essential.

This real little turnkey guide has been designed to address all audiences: new converts, confirmed Christians, regulars at spiritual retreats or novices in the subject, everyone will find what they need.

“Today it is your turn to follow in the footsteps of the elders, who left not only traces, but true wisdom which will be able to help you make this unique moment a privileged moment,” writes Brother Baudouin in the book's introduction, citing Matthew 6:6.

“But you, when you pray, retire to your most secluded room, close the door, and pray to your father who is present in secret; your father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

Throughout the chapters, he encourages apprentice retreatants to ask themselves deep questions on various subjects to guide them on this journey: "Do I want to enter into dialogue with God? Who are my idols? is being free for me? Are there forgivenesses that I do not want or cannot yet give? What are the tragedies or injustices that have marked my life? Do I believe in my capacity to love and be loved?"

“I wish you to have met Christ, the one who loves you and will always love you,” he writes at the conclusion of his work.

In Welcome to the Monastery, the monk forms with Sister Catherine, a duo of caring guides who will lead the participants deep within themselves. In this original program, six personalities, Clara Morgane, Delphine Wespiser, Simon Castaldi, Paul El Kharrat, Fabienne Carat and Jean-Marc Généreux take part in the exercise of spiritual retreat within the religious community of the Convent of Corbara in Corsica .

Discover below, in an extract from the program, a moving exchange between the priest and one of the participants, Paul El Kharrat (former candidate for 12 coups de midi).
