Mayflower Church Families Separated in Bangkok Immigrant Detention Center

US government agencies and the US Embassy are currently working to assist Christians from the Shenzhen Holy Reformed Church detained in Thailand.

The Christians of the Shenzhen Holy Reformed Church, a Chinese house church named Mayflower Church since leaving China, and its attempts to gain recognition as refugees from South Korea and then Thailand, are now detained by the Thai immigration.

La validity period of their visa is exceeded, but the Christians could not renew it, because this operation must be done via the Chinese embassy. They risk being deported to China, their country of origin, where they could be persecuted.

Organization ChinaAid just clarified that the families are currently in the Bangkok Immigrant Detention Center. A "notoriously overcrowded" center in which families would have been separated from each other.

US government agencies and the US Embassy are currently working to help these 63 Christians. "Our team and the US Embassy are constantly assessing the situation," said Bob Fu, founder and chairman of ChinaAid.

The organization for the defense of persecuted Christians in China has shared two videos on Youtube. The first shows the Christians of the Shenzhen Holy Reformed Church on the side of the highway on their way to Bangkok.

In the second video, the Christians can be seen spending the night at the Nong Prue police station.
