"I refused to renounce Jesus as the Son of God. They started beating me": A Christian testifies to the persecution

"They broke into the house, shouting that I had blasphemed against the Islamic religion and trying to force me to confess that Jesus is not the Son of God, and that Allah is the only God to worship and Muhammad is his prophet."
Morning Star News reports on the persecution of Shaquru Ndifuna, 33. This former professor of Islam at the Islamic Institute of Noor in Mayuge district, eastern Uganda says he was accused of blasphemy.
Shaquru Ndifuna became a Christian last January at an outdoor evangelistic event. On May 2, he was beaten unconscious.
A source who remains anonymous for security reasons explains that in April, three Islamic leaders visited him at his home.
"They asked me about my absence as a teacher at the Noor mosque," Ndifuna said.
"I tried to explain to them my other commitments elsewhere. One of them mentioned that I had become a Christian, but I did not answer. Then the three Muslim leaders left."
On the evening of May 2, four men returned to his home.
"They broke into the house, shouting that I had blasphemed against the Islamic religion and trying to force me to confess that Jesus is not the Son of God, and that Allah is the only God to worship and Muhammad is his prophet."
“I refused to renounce Jesus as the Son of God. They started beating me,” he continues. He was then transported to a care center by a friend. On his hospital bed, he appeals, "please take care of my children, I don't know if I will survive".
