"Muslims started throwing stones, then with sticks and clubs they attacked me beating me, including new Muslim converts who had embraced the Christian faith."
In Uganda, on February 10, a pastor was invited by a mosque leader to a debate on religions. During this meeting, 37 Muslims wanted to become Christians. But at the end of this debate, the pastor was attacked. He remained hospitalized for 8 days and suffered in particular from leg and hand fractures.
Bishop Michael Okia of the Living Stream Church of Christ reports the facts to Morning Star News.
“We received an invitation letter from the Sheikh of Nakaloke Mosque, who organized the debate in Nakaloke district of Mbale city. I decided to send Pastor Babi to debate with Muslims because of his skills in scholarship in the Quran and the Bible."
The debate was to last 14 days. During the second week, Pastor Babi and his team joined the participants. He presented Jesus as the Son of God and the only way to the Father.
The Bishop continues, “On February 10, at the end of his defense, the pastor made a call to believe in Jesus. Amazingly, 29 adults and 8 children gave their lives to Jesus Christ, all Muslims.”
"Muslims started throwing stones, then with sticks and clubs they attacked me beating me, including new Muslim converts who had embraced the Christian faith," Pastor Babi told Morning Star News. "I was hit on my right hand and left leg as some tried to strangle me. A Muslim kicked me and injured my private parts, which still hurt to this day. "
A member of the church came to rescue him. He suffers from minor injuries.
