He had fought to recover his daughter kidnapped in Pakistan, Hoorab's father was murdered
According to Naveed Walter, president of Human Rights Focus Pakistan, it could be revenge for bringing those responsible for Hoorab's kidnapping to justice.
Hoorab Masih, a young Pakistani Christian had been kidnapped and converted to Islam, last December, by a Muslim trader, in a village near Faisalabad, in the province of Punjab, Pakistan.
She was then 12 years old. In March, the court of first instance had authorized the young Christian to return to her family if she so wished. The next day she was with her family again. But death threats were already hanging over them.
Asia News reveals that his father, Basharat Masih, was killed at the end of April. His sister, Maryam Bibi, explains that he was taking part in a pigeon flying competition when he was attacked by a group of assailants.

"Hoorab's case showed once again that even after a trial, threats against Christians do not cease. Easy targets, religious minorities suffer from kidnappings, conversions and forced marriages. The culprits of Basharat's murder Masih must be brought to justice."
