Oïkonomia Foundation: creation of the first evangelical foundation in France!


The first evangelical Protestant foundation in France was officially created at the end of last week. Named Oïkonomia Foundation, in reference to a biblical term which designates stewardship, this charitable organization has the originality of being both directly active in the social field and ready to support actions launched by works or associations. evangelical Protestants.

Monday, January 10, the director of communication of the National Council of Evangelicals of France (CNEF), Romain Choisnet, announced on Twitter the official creation of the Oikonomia Foundation, the first evangelical Protestant foundation.

Its name "Oïkonomia" is a reference to a Greek biblical term which designates stewardship, management, administration or even the work. A term which, according to the CNEF, corresponds well "to the objective of the foundation", which is to help "associations and evangelical Protestant works to carry out projects of general interest and to find solutions to renovate or safeguard the heritage used in purposes of general interest”.

The decree of recognition of public utility was signed on Friday January 6 by the Prime Minister @Elisabeth_Borne and the Minister of the Interior @GDarmanin and published in the OJ on January 8, 2023.

A patronage organization founded in partnership with several players in the evangelical Protestant world, including the National Council of Evangelicals of France (CNEF), the La Cause Foundation, the Protestant Family Associations (AFP), the association Les Toits de l'Espoir, the Dudas Développement et Participations, the Royal Rangers association, the Decision association in Francophonie, the Mutual Aid and Liaison Service (SEL), the La Gerbe association and the Union des Actes.

Although its headquarters are in Le Havre, the Oïkonomia Foundation operates throughout the territory. In addition, it has a large capital of 7 million euros and three employees work on its operation.

It already manages a residential home for the elderly as well as an EHPAD and is currently working on the creation of a specialized kindergarten for disabled children. It thus has the originality of being both active in the social field and ready to support actions launched by evangelical Protestants, its field of action ranging from social to medico-social through the field of education, of culture, art and humanitarianism.
