"How can I describe the intensity of the moment The Rock and Lauren Hashian showed up at the Dream Center to care for one of the mothers who lives on campus supporting her childbirth?"
Pastor Matthew Barnett still can't believe it. Sunday morning, while preparing for worship, a member of his church comes to tell him that Lauren Hashian, wife of Dwayne Johnson, has just arrived to donate to one of the expectant mothers supported by the church's community center, the Dream Center.
The pastor of the megachurch leaves his office and goes to her to help retrieve the donated belongings when he realizes that the American actor is also in the car.
"The Rock is in the back talking to someone on the phone," he tells FaithWire.
Dwayne Johnson's family donated a crib, stuffed animals and other useful items to the future baby. The actor took the time to chat with the future mother. “[He] talked to this mother…for 10 minutes, asking her what she was going through,” the pastor recounts, “she was in foster care most of her life…it meant so much to her.”
"How can I describe the intensity of the moment when @therock @laurenhashianofficial showed up at the @ladreamcenter to take care of one of the mothers who lives on campus by supporting her childbirth,” he explains on his Instagram account.
"Not only did he treat her like the most important person in the world, but he stayed and listened with a heart of extraordinary compassion for her and anyone. I realized very quickly that this man not only cares about people's immediate needs, but cares about their potential. I am always amazed by his extraordinary humility and the spark of hope he brings to the world."
A moment Dwayne Johnson also shared on his Instagram account, thanking Pastor Matthew Barnett and the Dream Center team for their "incredible work for our struggling and broken brothers and sisters."
