Today's news invites us to pray.

To start with the family of 8-year-old Cooper Roberts asking for prayers for the little boy seriously injured in the July 4 shooting in Highland Park, Illinois. Cooper is now a paraplegic and has undergone several operations.

We can also pray for Beni Johnson's family. The wife of Pastor Bill Johnson, of Bethel Church in California which she led alongside her husband, died on July 13. After a long battle with cancer, she went to join the Lord yesterday, she was 67.

We can also pray for a subject that has recently surfaced in the Catholic Church in France with the suicide of Father François de Foucauld, priest of the diocese of Versailles. This is the question of abuse of power in the Church. Wednesday, a collective wishing to "collect testimonies on the abuse of power in the Church" and to provide "solutions" has been launched by relatives of the priest.

Don't we say that prayer is above all a conversation with our God? Find out exactly how to hear His voice in the first work of Father Mustapha Amari, "Hearing the voice of God". In this book recently published by Editions Première Partie, the priest of the Chemin Neuf community invites the reader to follow a method by reclaiming the tools he possesses to discern and listen to the voice of God. A spiritual and concrete vade-mecum.
