Attacked in the past two Easters, Christians praise God in their burnt church

"Sometimes we worship in the rain. I suffered from pneumonia due to the cold. I am still under medical treatment, but I am passionate about preaching the gospel of Christ."

In Nigeria, a Christian community in Plateau State was attacked at Easter in 2021 and 2022. But this year, all the faithful insisted on gathering in their burnt church to celebrate Easter despite the threats.

Some had brought chairs, others were sitting on the ground, or on stones. But the 300 members of this Christian community wanted to meet in their burnt church, without a roof, to celebrate the Easter holidays.

“Sometimes we worship in the rain,” the church pastor told International Christian Concern, "I suffered from pneumonia due to the cold. I am still under medical treatment, but I am passionate about preaching the gospel of Christ".

If in 2021 the militants burned more than 500 houses, in 2022 they destroyed more houses and crops. But this year, the Christians have not deplored any attack.
