Archbishop Rolando Álvarez received a visit from his family in prison

Footage shows Nicaraguan Bishop Rolando Álvarez in blue prisoner garb with members of his family.

Held in prison for "conspiring and spreading false news" and considered "a traitor to the homeland", Nicaraguan bishop Rolando Álvarez, a critic of President Daniel Ortega's government, was able to receive visits from his family in prison.

Media shared images of this meeting. He is seen in a blue prisoner's outfit inside the Jorge Navarro National Penitentiary Center in Tipitapa, a high-security prison.

These images come to us after proof of the bishop's life was requested by several sectors of the Nicaraguan opposition and human rights organizations.
