Immersion: Open Doors presents its 2022 Global Christian Persecution Index

For this new episode of our series of immersive reports, we looked at the Global Index of the Persecution of Christians 2022 published by the NGO Portes Ouvertes on January 19th.

We met members of the organization who had come to Paris to present this index, a reference document on persecuted Christians, in the Senate and the National Assembly.

The 2022 edition of theWorld Index of Persecution of Christians reports unprecedented numbers. He reveals that 360 million Christians experienced persecution or discrimination between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021. This represents 1 in 7 Christians in the world.

During this report we interviewed Patrick Victor, director of the Portes Ouvertes organization, Guillaume Guennec, in charge of advocacy for the organization and Clémence Martin, media manager. They explained to us how the data is collected to establish this index, told us about the people behind these chilling figures as well as the challenges of their mission.

Also discover in this immersion, the moving testimony of Manga, a persecuted Christian in Nigeria.

Open doors is an NGO created in 1976 whose ambition is to inform and encourage Christians in France and Belgium (with the help of Portes Ouvertes Belgique) in order to mobilize them for the cause of persecuted Christians. It is part of Open Doors, a large network of 25 associations in Europe and America created in 1955 by Brother André.
