Europe denounces the increase in intolerance and discrimination against Christians

During a conference of theOSCE, Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, held in Vienna on December 14, governments and international organizations discussed ways to improve the security of Christian communities in Europe.

Por Eberhard Pohl, representing Germany, the conference aimed to coordinate the efforts of each country to fight against the root causes of intolerance towards Christians, but also for all other reasons. According to Cristina Finch, representing the ODIHR, dialogue and identification of issues is a first step in the fight against intolerance and exclusion.

“The crimes, incidents and many tragic events of this year are sad proof that no OSCE participating state is immune to this motivated hatred…. It is our responsibility to respond to all manifestations of intolerance, including against Christians. ”

The ODIHR is the institution responsible for the promotion of human rights within the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), an intergovernmental body working for stability, prosperity and democracy in its 57 participating states.
