Church CCTV Reveals How 'Heroic' Pastor Disarmed Man Who Threatened Worshipers

On Sunday, a man pulls out a gun and threatens Christians in a church, until the pastor manages to subdue him.

Christians at Nashville's Light Mission Church were threatened during worship by a gunman on Sunday. CCTV footage reveals how the pastor overpowered and disarmed the gunman.

The 26-year-old man, Dezire Baganda, was seated in the front row of the church, when he drew his gun and began to point it at the Christians gathered for worship. "He wanted to kill", says Pastor Ezekiel Ndikumana.

“That's what first occurred to me… He was standing in front of almost everyone. No one was behind him yet, so he could have done anything. "

On the CCTV footage, the pastor can be seen moving around, positioning himself behind the assailant, then rushing over and jumping on him in order to subdue him.

The pastor says God "used" him.

“God wanted to show that he is a mighty God. One main thing I said, we had faith. "

Once overpowered by the pastor, the man was disarmed and held down by the pastor and members of the community until the police arrived.

The man would not be a devotee of the church but would have attended several meetings already.
