Christian radio forced to broadcast "Muslim content"

A Christian radio station, which was broadcasting Bible verses, will now also have to share "Muslim content".

The Indonesian constitution guarantees the religious freedom and the right to worship according to one's own beliefs. But the persecution and discrimination of Christians remains keen. International Christian Concern reveals pressure on a Christian radio station that broadcasts on one of the Indonesian islands.

One person recorded the verses from the book of Proverbs and the Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians shared over the radio, and then relayed them to WhatsApp groups of local Muslims. The latter then asked the radio to stop its broadcasts.

An agreement was finally reached between the two parties. Christian radio must now also broadcast “Muslim content” in order to “find a balance”.

For International Christian Concern, this event is "an example of the hostility of some Muslims towards Christianity".
