50 million Bibles to be distributed in Brazil by YWAM and the Brazilian Bible Society

The idea is to attract churches and people from all over the country to participate in the delivery of a Bible to every Brazilian family.

JEM (Youth with a Mission) and the Brazilian Bible Society (SBB) will distribute 50 million Bibles in Brazil as part of the “The Bible in Every House” project. These 50 million copies of the Bible will be donated to 5573 Brazilian municipalities.

“Bringing the Bible into every home will produce a wide cooperation of churches and Christians. We expect to have leaders from all Christian denominations who support this plan to distribute a Bible to every household, ”says Mario Rost, Director of Institutional Development and movement coordinator for the SBB.

Un website was created for the project so that those interested can participate and find information on how this large-scale operation is going to unfold.

“Our goal is to bring the message of the Gospel to every Brazilian family through the Word of God. We want to promote the strengthening of family bonds through the teachings and values of the Bible. By consolidating the place of the Bible in Brazilian families, we will contribute to a more just, fraternal and humane society ”, concludes Rost.

More than 16 cities from north to south of the country have already been affected by the program.

“People are receptive both to receive the Bible, but also to talk about their life, their faith or the lack of it,” says Wellington Oliveira, president and movement coordinator for YWAM.
