5 ways not to feel overwhelmed

There are keys to not feeling overwhelmed by events.

Modern life is demanding. Every moment we have to deal with all kinds of expectations. From home to work, the responsibilities multiply. We are often overwhelmed by a multiplicity of requests without really knowing how we are going to deal with them.

All these issues upset our emotions and our actions. However, there are keys to not feeling overwhelmed by events.

Remember God is in control

Learning to trust God is a long process. But it is essential because when we finally realize that we can stop struggling because God is taking care of us, we are no longer battered by the circumstances.

Have I not given you this order: Be strong and take heart? Do not be afraid or afraid, for the Lord your God is with you in all that you do. (Josué 1: 9)

Pray

When you start to feel overwhelmed, don't stay in solitude and silence, call on God. Just sharing your situation with him will calm you down and give you a different perspective.

Do not worry about anything ; but in everything make your needs known to God through prayers and supplications, with thanksgiving. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4: 6-7)

Stay out of certain situations

We have to learn not to want to handle all situations. Sometimes it doesn't concern us, and wanting to take it on is then nothing more than carrying a burden that was not intended for us. Before we want to get involved in everything, at the risk of being overwhelmed by all kinds of needs, let's learn to ask God where we belong.

Stop wanting to please everyone

It's just impossible. So refocus on a more reasonable sphere of influence. The idea is not to become a navelist, but a realistic one. You can't do it all. But you are not alone!

Drop it

It's a bit like the metaphor of water sliding over duck feathers. While it is important to take constructive criticism into account, it is important not to be consumed by negative and sterile criticism.
