All those who desire to walk in God's plan for their life will one day ask themselves this question. Am I in God's plan?
PMaybe you have also asked yourself this question, and do you hope to remain in the will of God in good times as in bad times. Fortunately, we are not moving in the dark. We have the counsel of God, the Holy Spirit who reminds us of what God says in his Word.
But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I have said to you.
Jean 14: 26
Yes, the Lord Jesus is seated at the right hand of God the Father, and the Holy Spirit is with us to remind us of the teachings of Jesus.
So are you moving forward according to God's plan? There are 3 things that can tell you if you are walking in his will.
- You are in accordance with his Word
The Holy Spirit reminds us of the Word of God so that we can stay. God Himself said of His Word,
Only be strong and be of good courage, doing faithfully according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn away from it to the right or to the left, in order to be successful in whatever you undertake.
Josué 1: 7
- You do what Jesus said
Obedience to Christ ensures that we remain in the will of God. No matter how, where, when or with whom, as long as we follow what the Lord Jesus says, we are assured that we are in his will.
As the Father loved me, I also loved you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments, and remain in his love.
John 15: 9-10
- You are led by the Holy Spirit
We need to develop our listening skills to hear the Holy Spirit when He says something. Some see it as a mystical thing, like a thunderous voice roaring from the sky, but this is not always the case. We just need to hear and obey him when he reminds us of the Word of God.
For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
