It all started with the conversion of a single monk. A year later, multiple sources indicate that nearly 200,000 Tibetans, including 62 monks, turned to Jesus Christ.
SAccording to Joel Handley (Asian Access), this phenomenal awakening is directly linked to the help of Christian NGOs following the terrible earthquake that devastated Nepal last year. Of magnitude 7,8, this earthquake had killed 9,000 people and destroyed nearly 600,000 houses.
“They did not see Buddhists, Hindus or any other religious group coming to support them. But week after week, it was Jesus' followers who proved most faithful, giving themselves up to be the hands and feet of the Lord, ”said Handley.
“By focusing on this particular ethnic group, we want to see leaders rise among them who resemble Christ. Our priority is to nurture their loving relationship with God. Thus, they are transformed into the image of Christ in their character. It is more than just personal spiritual growth. The future pastors whom we train become positive models, examples ”.
This organization works across the continent, from Afghanistan to Cambodia and Turkmenistan to Vietnam. "Asian Access had the privilege of coming with the missionaries who were able to reach this first Tibetan monk", explains Handley.
"We invest everything in making them missionaries in turn, capable of reaching their own community."
