10 things called "abomination" in the Bible, the 4th will really surprise you

1 “If anyone turns his ear away from listening to the law, his very prayer is an abomination. " (28 Proverbs: 9)
He who prays but turns his ear away from the law is certainly praying for the sole purpose of meeting his own needs. He does not seek to honor God in his life, he wants to use God and not serve him.

2 “Whoever does iniquity is an abomination to the Lord. " (25 Deuteronomy: 16)
There are no big or small sins for God, even the smallest sin in your eyes attracts his eternal wrath. But Jesus Christ carried the punishment for all your sins on the cross, from the smallest to the greatest, so be forgiven!

3 “Every proud heart is an abomination to the Lord. " (16 Proverbs: 5)
Humility precedes glory and God gives grace to the humble… but for the proud and the haughty it is another story. God abhors them! Fortunately pride is not inevitable, humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and be blessed.

4 “You will abhor all other reptiles that fly and have four feet. " (Leviticus 11: 23)
The literal Darby translation reads "any flying reptile that has four feet will be an abominable thing to you." Have you found what this four-legged flying reptile is? An ancient trace of dinosaurs in the Bible…?

5 “Two kinds of weights, two kinds of ephah, are both an abomination to the Lord. " (20 Proverbs: 10)
Double standards are not good. God is a God of equity and justice and he himself is no respect for persons. His forgiveness or his anger is manifested equitably on all men.

6 “You shall not sleep with a man as one sleeps with a woman. It is an abomination. " (Leviticus 18: 22)
Did you know that in France you could be brought to court and sentenced for quoting this verse from the Bible? If so, it happened to Christine Boutin one year ago.

7 “Those who have a perverse heart are an abomination to the Lord. " (11 Proverbs: 20)
Guard your heart more than anything else, because from it come the sources of life… Changing behavior is not easy, but when the heart is rotten there it is really complicated. Only God can give you a new heart.

8 “He who absolves the guilty and he who condemns the righteous are both an abomination to the Lord. " (17 Proverbs: 15)
Those who exercise righteousness do not always do so righteously. Conflict of interest, ideology, personal relationships, dual agenda, greed ... make it difficult for justice to be independent. All around us reflect the righteous righteousness of God.

9 “Thou shalt not sacrifice to the Lord thy God neither an ox nor a lamb which is defect or deformed, for it is an abomination to the Lord. " (17 Deuteronomy: 1)
“This lamb is good for nothing, we can neither sell it nor eat it, so offer it to God. Come on, let's put on a different mindset and enjoy honoring God with the firstfruits, with the best.

10 "A woman shall not wear a man's garment, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment, for all that do these things are an abomination to the Lord your God. " (22 Deuteronomy: 5)
That's not to say ladies can't wear pants or boys can't have long hair. At the time of Jesus men wore robes! Let's not subject the Bible to our cultures but learn to value femininity and masculinity, both created by God.

There are many other things which are in abomination to God, you can go through them here. God loves you and he wants to help you, come to him as you are and he will take care of you.
